Laser Cut Rubber Settings

Observe the following precautions.
Laser cut rubber settings. Adjust speed and power settings as needed. Laser cutting rubber or elastomeric materials often produces slightly charred melted or burnt edges. Rubber here we fall back on the tested laser parameters from our material database. Also available is a laser cutter user guide.
Ensure that you select the following settings in the printer driver. The following are suggested laser cutter configuration settings for various materials. Laser engraving or cutting rubber or polymer can possibly ignite the material. See the drawing guidelines for more on setting up a file for laser cutting engraving.
Enter the size of the stamp you intend on engraving. Power settings that are too high can melt and distort many materials. All settings noted use the default resolution which is 500 or 600 depending on the make of your laser system. Use your laser s software settings for stamp mode or 3d effects mode.
Never leave the laser system running unattended. When using cermark metal marking solution remember that not all metals use the same speed setting. Consideration should be given to edge quality when selecting laser cutting for gaskets. Drawing templates are not currently available for this material.
If you have other settings you d like to suggest please send an email to design help ncsu edu with the details. Use your machine s air assist mode while engraving. Stamp the engraving layout will be automatically mirrored and inverted. Depending on the application material and tolerance needed this may or may not be acceptable.
